Location Morristown TN
The IT Specialist performs installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software in a multiple-server, networked environment. Experience with ERP & EDI is highly desired.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and
Responsibilities:
X Installation, configuration and maintenance of computer hardware and software in a multiple-server, networked environment including security and disaster recovery planning.
X Diagnosis and solutions to computer problems, workstations, fileservers, communication servers, hubs, routers, switches, firewalls and other connectivity-related equipment.
X WAN/LAN administration, both directly and remotely including related equipment.
X Telephone, voice-mail, and e-mail (Exchange 2003) systems administration, hardware and software included.
X Installation and maintenance of servers (Windows 2000 and Windows 2003) and workstation configurations (Windows 2000 and Windows XP).
X Technical interface with outside vendors, as needed.
X Hardware and software purchase, licensing and inventory.
X Maximize utilization of technology, software, and resources.
X Installation, configuration and maintenance of several industry specific software programs including ERP (Godlan AutoCentre), EDI (Radley iCaras), and Microsoft Office 2003 products.
X Creation and maintenance of reports utilizing Crystal Report Writer.
X Configuration and maintenance of bar code equipment and software, including scanners, rf terminals and thermal transfer printers.
X Responsible for communication equipment: fax, video-conference, etc.
X Responsible for the administration and proper functioning of antivirus and anti-spam solutions.
X May be responsible for development of in-house programming projects.
X Responsible for overseeing or performing network-related wiring throughout facility.
X Responsible for creation and adherence to departmental procedures and company policies. Creation of other documentation as needed including end user documentation.
X Responsible for training Associates in various topics related to software, computers, etc. Other topics as needed.
X Responsible for guest/visitor accommodations including notebook/computer support, antivirus, printer, etc.
X Responsible for other resource allocation.
X Responsible for other Internet technology aspects (company website, Intranet, etc.).
X Support all other departments as directed.
X Create and present presentations on various topics.
X Flexibility to work in multi-language environment (software included).
X Proven ability to work independently, when needed; and manage multiple projects.
X Assist in providing computer/network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users.
X Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
X Must perform preventative maintenance and routine machine checks.
X Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment; responsible for proper waste disposal.
X Must be able to successfully function within a team environment and be able to adapt to change.
X Communicate effectively with others using both oral and written communication skills.
X Other duties as required.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
EXPERIENCE
At least 0-2 years related experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
