Provide strong Quality Department leadership and representation for the site by ensuring all products meet both internal specifications and customer requirements prior to shipment.
Promote a customer satisfaction based culture through strict adherence to established quality standards and non-wavering commitment to the company's quality policy and culture.
Establish new test/inspection methods and frequencies based on a value-add principle.
Hold production and engineering teams accountable for efficient and effective root cause analysis and subsequent corrective actions from internal and external nonconformance as well as customer opportunities.
Serves as a trainer, mentor, leader and customer advocate to both new and established employees, embracing the companies 100% commitment to a maintaining a culture of safety, quality and efficient and accurate production.
Collects, communicates and shares key department metrics, customer concerns and potential risks both internally and externally serving all levels of the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Follow and promote the company's safety-first culture through proper execution and monitoring of safety procedures including the use of all safety equipment, personal protective gear and safety glasses (where applicable).
Stops and reports ALL unsafe activities immediately.
Manage the selection, supervision and training of Quality Assurance Leads to continuously inspect and audit the processes and products in order to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Serves as a firm, consistent and fair leader and mentor to the quality team.
Perform all employee reviews, coaching and disciplinary actions required by the companies HR policies.
Mentor and coach employees through poor performance or new challenges.
Help to communicate recommended employee training to the Director of Quality Ensure daily testing results and measurements against established standards are acceptable and release passing finished goods for shipment while quarantining questionable or untested material.
Review daily shift reports to ensure issues are resolved on the shift and proper product verification methods were followed to protect the supply chain from nonconformance.
Ensure that staff measures and documents the retain samples from daily production in a manner consistent with the retain procedures.
Work with the Production Manager to verify all daily required production paperwork is available to the production floor employees and all forms are completed accurately and legibly by the responsible party.
Archive all completed documents per the company's document control standards.
Ensure that all production employees have clear and concise direction and standards via new employee training, maintaining accurate drawings, accurate specifications and effective control plans.
Monitor all measurement trends in accordance with specified dimensions and notify Plant Management and the Director of Quality of any and all out of specification readings or warning trends immediately.
Review and verify customer drawings/requirements match scheduled production specifications, control plans and are correct in the Beta Lazer Mic measurement machine.
Maintain the sites registry of all internally generated quality issues (NCM's/ICARS/Complaints/SCARS) in order to reduce reoccurrence and monitor emerging trends.
Actively participate in company meetings, virtual calls, on site visits, kaizen activities and new initiatives within the plant and as needed externally.
Responsible for ensuring all gauges are calibrated per the schedule and for controlling all gauges.
Ensure that correct gauges are delivered to the machine prior to production start up and as called out by the control plans.
Oversee production personnel with rework instructions and duties and additional sorting/inspection Other duties as assigned Critical KPI's:
Maintain Customer Complaints, Cost of Quality and Defect Rates below target levels.
Maintain employee's attendance and performance at acceptable levels intervening as needed.
Maintain quarantine inventory levels below targets including hold inventory aging.
Continuous improvement of training and employee knowledge
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate Degree or equivalent Quality supervision experience Required knowledge:
Solid understanding of Quality Assurance principles.
(ISO-9001 experience preferred but not required) Excel skills to the level of statistical analysis (CPK diagrams, Histograms, Pivot Tables).
Manager level written and oral communication skills.
Experience/Soft skills Required:
Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with little assistance choosing to do things the right way even when it takes longer or there is pressure to take shortcuts.
Must be a positive, steady and mentoring leader/coach who can help other stay on track even on stressful days.
Must have an investigative thought process to drive continuous improvement through information collection.
Must be firm and unwavering in execution of the quality system and confident enough to stand for what is right while hearing other sides of the discussion.
Must thrive in a team environment using a Group think approach to solving problems.
Must enjoy training and interacting with people at all levels of the organization and have no issue representing the department to customers and during site visits.

years in a Quality leadership role preferred Skills/Abilities:
Solid understanding of all measurement tools and devices such as scales, calipers, micrometers and go no-go gauges.
Excellent computer skills required including EXCEL and WORD and preferable MINI-TAB and/or SQC Pack.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand on their feet for up to 8 hours if needed; Stooping, squatting and reaching can be expected.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to eye level as required during product inspection.
Must be able to work in a hot environment during summer months as facility is not climate controlled in summer.
Must be able to work with hot parts or equipment in dusty area while wearing proper safety gear, and around oil or grease.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
